Happy Mothers Day

A very special Happy Mothers Day to all those wonderful mothers out there. This year my eldest made me a lovely card from her and her little sister, and gave me a charm for my pandora bracelet. My son made me a gorgeous wee pot with a lid in pottery class at school. I spent the morning with my eldest daughter at a Mother and Daughter Breakfast fundraiser, then had lunch with my husband's family at a local cafe, and finally visited my parents for afternoon tea. So it's been fairly full on, but very special.
This year, as my father is ill, I made his card for Mum. I had cased the pattern from the internet, and I'm sorry I can't find whose it was, but altered it to what I had in the cupboard. I chose to use Up,Up and Away stamp set in Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla. Dad was thrilled with the result, and so was Mum. So that is all that matters.
This one from my family to Mum, is in Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Whisper White. I used a retired DSP on the background. The two Tags Die was embossed with Vintage Wallpaper. The flower was sewn in Whisper White Satin Ribbon, an antique brad is used in the middle of the Elegant Eggplant Scallop Dot Ribbon bow. The Little Leaves sizzlit and Beautiful Wings Embosslit adda little extra to it.
The last one I made was for my Mother n Law. She loves cats and I found the picture of this on Angela Purdie's site www.kintakards.com I just loved it and thought it would be an excellent card to make. It turned out quite well I thought. So thanks Angela for the inspiration. So I hope you all have had a wonderful day. Yours in creating Dee

Motorbikes

It seems to be one of those things that we seem to have a lot of around the farm. But as we grow older the bikes tend to change. My Father 'n law is having his 70th birthday tomorrow and one of his loves in the latter part of his life since he has released the reins of the farm, has been to take off for rides on his road bike. So for his birthday it seemed obvious what stamp I wanted to use.
and inside
My husband's cousin and his partner have been together for 10 years, and secretly tied the knot last week in their garden. They have a love of motorbikes as well. In fact they take off around NZ and Australia touring on their bikes. So for them I wanted to do something special to them incorporating their love and their love of motorbikes. So I hope they like it, and you get some inspiration from it.
So my apologies for not getting to posting sooner. I hope you've found some ideas for your own projects. Yours in creating Dee

Elementary Elegance and You are Loved

It's been full on again since school started. The weekend just didn't seem to be a weekend. My son had his softball game on Saturday morning, and then we went to the NZ vs Australia Polo game in Kihikihi that afternoon. Sunday was filled with the Weetbix kids try-athalon. So time just seemed to go. My niece is turning 21 this week, and wanted to use some of the new stamps that are in the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration catalogue. So I decided on the Elementary Elegance, as the basis of this card. The colours are Conchord Crush, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder was used as a background on the Crumb Cake. The Victoria Crochet Trim and the clear rhinestone brads are used, along with a trinket crown and rhinestones.
I received the "You are Loved" set in my latest order, and wanted to try it out. I haven't seen too much done with this one yet,so I just went tried things out for myself. The first one is hand painted on the stamp with the Stampin' Write markers in Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake. Once stamped, I then played around with it till I decided to cut around it. The amour is from Clearly for You. The little butterfly brad is out of the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue. The Wisteria Wonder cardstock is embossed with Perfect Polka Dots and punched with the Scallop Trim Border. Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon and Victoria Crochet Trim are used to embellish as well.
I tried again with it this time using a basic colour scheme of Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler. The cherry Cobbler was embossed with the stripes folder. The Whisper White was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper. Diamantes, and flowers fro the Vintage Vogue set completed the card.
So that's it for now. Hope you have fun with your creating. Cheers Dee

Diggers, Trucks and Rollers.....

It's 7.30pm and we have diggers, trucks and rollers at the bottom of our driveway creating a bigger, better, safer entranceway. However, my darling children have taken off to watch all the action instead of going to bed. Never mind, it's not everyday things like this happen. My daughter's teacher from last year, got married this past weekend, so Isabella decided that she would like to give her a gift and a card. I was commissioned to make said card. So once again it's thinking cap time.
The colours are Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake, with Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and an old Sale-a-bration set called Bliss. Once again, another friends birthday rolled around for my son, and we came up with this wee card.
This one was Lots of Bots (which is now retired sorry), and Extreme Elements,in Poppy Parade and Marina Mist and Whisper White. I apologize for showing old sets, but for those of you with these, it gives you other ideas. Yours in creating, Dee.

a couple of spare minutes...

Hi All, well the weather is definitely turning it on for us for the end of term. We spent the day at Arapuni lake, waterskiing and biscuiting. So much fun watching the kids enjoying themselves. The kids had another birthday party yesterday so I had to get my thinking cap on for that one. The Under the Big Top set is always a good "go to" set for kids. So here's the 1st one.....
The framed tulips embossing folder, makes another show, along with very vanilla, pretty in pink, wisteria wonder. All very much little girl colours. The other one was a thank you card for some dear friends.
This one was using soft suede, very vanilla, cherry cobbler, with first edition DSP, pearl accents, and victoria lace with antique brads. The stamp set is creative elements, and I used the rocking technique to get the edge of the butterfly with the soft suede edge. I hope you get some inspiration from these. Yours in creating, Dee

The end is in sight

Well, the school holidays are nearly over for another summer, and life might hopefully return to normal again. It's been a wonderful 6 weeks of not doing anything constructive. However, it has also meant I haven't done anything that I should. But I now plan to remedy that situation, and I have a couple of little cards to show you that I've made recently.
I had a friend's daughter's 3rd birthday, and with being in holiday mode didn't really have too many creative juices flowing, so I ended up adapting one I had previously made, but with stronger colours. They are Pretty in Pink and Conchord Crush. I love the Big Top set and my youngest thought the dancing bear would be appropriate, so that's what we went with. The other one I made was a simple wedding card for a friend's wedding.
Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Crumb cake were used with the Elizabeth stamp set. It's simple yet elegant, and the Victoria lace and antique brad work well with the stamp, and the Framed Tulips embossing folder. So it's short and sweet, but I promise to improve on my posts....
